Greetings friends, I’m Marc David, Founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating.
Here’s what I want to talk about: How to have more energy, 100% guaranteed.
The pressure’s on here, right? How to have more energy, 100% guaranteed. Let’s dive in.
So many people, you know this, they want to have more energy, and it seems like there’s so many people these days, they are caffeinating like crazy, right? Caffeine is the life-blood of the planet! Why? We want more energy. Why do we want more energy? So we can be life, we can be here, we can be present, we can dive in, we can feel fully alive. That’s a beautiful thing. So we’re turning to the energy drinks and we turn to this supplement, that food, this strategy, and it all makes sense and it doesn’t always work.
So I want to give you a strategy that I think needs to be practiced a little bit more, and I’m saying it’s going to give you a hundred percent guarantee in terms of having more energy, and at the very least learning how to cultivate it so much better.
Here’s the trick:
Learn to manage the energy that you already have right now. Here’s the thing: a lot of people want more, I want more, I want more. Do you deserve more? Why should you have more? Do you know how to manage the energy that you already have right now? Because there’s a lot of people out there, a lot of us, we have a lot of energy. But what are we doing with it? We often waste it. We waste it in nonsense social situations, we waste it on searching online, looking at nonsense. We waste it in relationships that don’t work, in friendships that pull us down, in thoughts that drain our energy, in junk food that doesn’t uplift us. And what happens is we’re draining our energy and we go, “I need more energy!” No! Stop draining the energy you already have.
Think of money for a second. Let’s say you had a hundred dollars and you go “Wow, I’ve got a hundred dollars, let me light this on fire so I can light my cigarette.” And then you burn away your hundred dollar bill. And then you come and say, “Wow, I need more money!” Well, you just burned your money! You don’t deserve more money, you didn’t manage it well. You could’ve lit that cigarette in a different way. That’s a strange analogy, but I think you know where I’m going with this.
If you want more money, learn how to manage the money you have right now because when you manage your money well it will start to multiply. That’s what anybody who makes money knows and has learned. So the same thing with your body energy.
So I want you to ask yourself:
What are the ways that I drain my energy? One of the great ways to do this is just to journal. Do an inventory of energy drainers, every single thing you can think of. Persons, places, thoughts, feelings, beliefs, foods, substances, anything, make a big list of everything that takes away my energy, everything that drains my energy. And notice what’s on your list, and start to let it go.
Because when you let go of the things that drain your energy, your tank fills up! And all of a sudden you’re not hankering for more energy, what you’re doing is tightening your gain. You’re learning how to play the game of life in a way that works for you. You’re containing your energy, you’re not a leaky vessel. And when you learn how to contain your energy, you have more power. You have more mental power, you have more emotional power, you have more love, you have more to give the world, and magically, more energy starts coming your way.
And that, my friends, is the magic of life.
