If you’re always feeling like you need to fix yourself, your weight, your body, your image, you’re not alone. As humans, we’re delicate. We’re susceptible to sickness, hurts, aches and breaks. It’s natural to want to search for healing. What’s less helpful is thinking that if we could just “fix this one thing,” then all of our dissatisfaction and suffering will finally disappear. Of course, we’ve all had misfortunes, traumas or pain, which can sometimes make us feel like our life is our enemy. But what if you didn’t actually have to fix anything in order to be in love with your life and feel innately happy? This way being is possible for anyone, regardless of their circumstances. In this cutting edge new video from IPEtv, Marc David, founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, unearths the truths about how we can use our life’s bruises as fuel and medicine for growth and healing, and it doesn’t involve fixing a thing. Join us and learn how you can turn your pain into your power!
In the comments below, please let us know your thoughts. We love hearing from you and we read and respond to every comment!
Here is a transcript of this week’s video:
Greetings, friends. I’m Marc David, founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. I’d love to share with you what I think might be the best medicine in the world. We’re going to build up to it.
Oftentimes life has us searching for healing. As humans, we’re a little fragile. We get symptoms. We get sick. Things break. Things hurt. And we understandably look for answers for our healing.
Each one of us at some point could use some good medicine.
But here’s the challenge. It’s easy to go through life constantly trying to fix things. “I’ve got to fix myself.” Or maybe we wish we had a different body. We’re trying to fix our looks. We’re trying to fix our weight. And it’s often hard to find the right pill or potion that can produce such a result.
What I’m suggesting is that the best and most foolproof medicine in the world is your life, your journey, your story. That’s the real medicine. We think we have to medicate our life. We think we have to fix our life. We think, “The life I’m living is really not the real one. I have to fix this. I have to make my life the real life. I have to make me the real me.”
What I’m suggesting is that our life, your life and how it’s been written for you is somehow exactly what you need for your own healing and growth and evolution, your spiritual, your religious maturing. It’s just a different way to look at the world.
Stop cursing your own journey and start blessing it.
I mean all the pain, all the suffering, all the hurts, all the wounds, all the abuses, all the nonsense that you’ve been subject to in the course of your life. For sure you might be angry. For sure you might be mad. But also we have to embrace the love that’s come our way, the wonder, the magic, the opportunities. You’re alive. You’re here. You have potential.
If you can see your life, not as something deficient that needs to be fixed, not as the enemy…And this includes your body. This includes all of it. When you can see your life, not as this thing that’s gone wrong that somehow you need to fix, but your life as a beautiful movie, it’s a beautiful story, then our journey becomes more uplifting. It becomes more energizing. And the best movie in the world is your movie, is your life, is your brilliant story.
But you have to re-author it. You have to revision who you think you are and see everything that’s happened as this powerful, crazy, intense, beautiful, painful, glorious journey that it really is.
So whatever is ailing you when it comes to food or body or health in that perspective is simply a doorway for your higher growth. It’s a whispering from a higher wisdom. Can we be brave enough and humble enough to listen? So it’s time, my friends, to see your life not as something to fix, but as the exact medicine that you need that’s been given by the wisdom of the universe to make you the best possible version of who you can be.
Because when we make that shift, a part of us is literally reborn. And the peace and the healing that we’ve been speaking can begin to make itself known like never before.
And I promise you, my friends, that that is the magic of the world.
