A Movement that’s Changing the World

At the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, we’re driven by our passionate desire to help people free themselves from the food and eating-related challenges that can sap our energy and keep us from living life to its full potential. We know that the approach we’ve developed here at the Institute, based on the concepts of Mind Body Nutrition and Dynamic Eating Psychology, offers a completely new and powerful way of working with these challenges to transform them into opportunities for growth and learning. We’re on a mission to change the way the world understands food, body, and health, and we pour our energy into developing cutting-edge, practical, doable coaching techniques for turning dreams into reality!

Comprehensive Career Training

This Training is a stand-alone professional certification that will fully prepare you for the coaching profession in as little as 8 months. It’s designed to enable you to start a new career, and you’ll find that the Institute pulls out all the stops to give you the tools you need for success as a coach! Even if you have no previous background in nutrition, this Training will give you the foundational knowledge you need to coach clients through their food- and eating-related challenges. With a bonus nutrition module, optional reading lists, and powerful case studies woven into every module of the Training, you’ll not only get a solid grounding in nutritional science, but you’ll be able to see the bigger picture of how nutrition and psychology fit together.

The Institute for the Psychology of Eating is well known for educating practitioners who come away confident and truly skilled to help others. Because of our emphasis on practical coaching techniques that get results, we attract already practicing professionals from many diverse fields who want to learn how to help clients in a skills-intensive way.

A Truly Unique Approach – That Works!

The Institute for the Psychology of Eating is the world’s only professional school that focuses on Dynamic Eating Psychology. This emphasis on our relationship with food makes for a professional educational training that teaches the most effective tools and protocols to successfully address weight loss, body image, overeating, binge eating, emotional eating, unwanted eating habits, and the most common nutrition related health challenges such as digestion, immunity, fatigue, mood and more. Our graduates come away with a great toolkit for working with clients.

Bonus Business Module

Included at no extra cost is a bonus Business Development Module that’s packed with information and resources to help you start a new practice or turbocharge your existing business. The business module is taught by Emily Rosen, Director of the Institute, and includes everything you need to hit the ground running: sample forms and marketing copy, ideas for creating groups programs, tips for setting up your website and social media pages, and much more!

Flexible Schedule

All the materials in the Training are delivered through a distance learning website that you can access whenever it fits your schedule, and you can view the presentations or listen to the recordings at your convenience. Each module includes several exercises that you can spend as much or as little time with as you want.

The majority of our students take this Training while also working, raising families, or pursuing other educational goals, and they tell us that our flexible course structure makes it possible for them to do it all!

A High Touch Educational Experience

We understand that for many people, going to school online can feel impersonal. Some people worry that they would miss the interactive energy of an in-person classroom. At the Institute, we pride ourselves on providing a “high touch” environment for our students. Since our Training is by application only, you know that every one of your classmates shares your excitement about becoming an Eating Psychology Coach.

We know you want to interact with your teachers, so the Training includes two live tele-classes each month with Marc David. You’ll want to try out the coaching skills you’re learning, so we offer a Peer Coaching program where we match you with one of your classmates for monthly practice sessions. We also host lively discussion forums online where you can share insights, encouragement, and inspiration with your fellow students. These forums are always full of rich conversations, and many of our graduates tell us that they’ve made friends for life through this Training!

A Great Support Team

When you have questions, we’re here for you. Whether you need clarification on the finer points of eating psychology, or just need help getting that last file to download, you can always reach out to our Student Services team. With a staff of Certified Eating Psychology Coaches, we know what it’s like to go through this Training and we’re happy to help with anything that comes up.

Future Earning Potential

Our students graduate with the ability to go into business for themselves with skill and confidence, regardless of prior educational background, and we often see our graduates making back the money that they invested in the Training in less than a year. Since the Institute for the Psychology of Eating is the only school that certifies you as an Eating Psychology Coach, you’ll have a competitive edge in a market that is filled with tens of thousands of health coaches.

Transform Your Life

Our graduates keep telling us: the Eating Psychology Coach Certification Training is much more than professional development – more, even, than a career training program. This Training will take you on a deeply personal journey into the psychology of eating, and it will change your life.

In fact, every term we have students who take this Training primarily for the opportunity to make lasting changes in their own relationship with food and eating. If you’ve struggled with an eating issue and wondered if you’d ever find healing, this Training will give you plenty of opportunities for self-exploration, as well as the in-depth knowledge of psychology and nutrition that will prepare you to make real and lasting shifts.

Support for Graduates

Even after you graduate, you’re still part of our community! You can stay in touch with friends from the Training and swap ideas for building your practice on our alumni forums. Many students also form local groups to get together in person after the Training is over.

We also host a Graduate Directory where you can list your practice. This is where we refer anyone who is looking to work with one of our coaches. We frequently promote the directory, and it gets lots of traffic.

Certification Never Expires

Once you complete the Eating Psychology Coach Certification Training, your certification never expires. You won’t have to pay any recertification fees or submit continuing education credits every few years. We know you have lots of interests, and we encourage our grads to keep growing as professionals and building their own unique coaching portfolios by following their passions to the next level.
